What is sentiment analysis?
Sentiment analysis looks at pieces of text and figures out if the words express positive, negative or neutral feelings. It can tell if someone is saying something good or bad about a product, company, etc.
How does sentiment analysis work?
Sentiment analysis uses computer programs to understand the meaning behind language.
First, it breaks down the text into individual words and phrases.
Then, it looks at each word and phrase to see if it is positive (like "great" or "amazing") or negative (like "poor" or "dislike").
The program considers how words are used together to figure out the overall sentiment being expressed. It can identify emotional language, sarcasm, and multiple sentiments in the same text.
By analyzing lots of examples, the program gets smarter at accurately detecting positive, negative or neutral feelings.
